I liken my mat classes to a box of Cracker Jacks - meaning you never know what you’re going to get. Yes, we do practice Joe’s mat order and Romana’s mat order which you can practice on your own with my DVDs or Apps. But my live classes include yoga, dance techniques and my own interpretation of healthy movement. I also utilize the wall quite a bit as it’s the perfect place to learn proper placement and positioning of your body. The alignment cues I give at the wall are meant to help you feel the feedback that you may not have the ability to do while practicing in real time on your mat. One thing you should know about this mat class, it’s always a lot of fun!
Joseph Pilates stated that out of all of his apparatus exercises, the mat exercises were the most difficult. When the body learns to control itself through practicing the individual exercises and eventually, a full mat routine, the desired affects will develop a greater sense of confidence and self awareness.
