This mat class is a combination of Joseph Pilates' original 34 Mat exercises, the “Romana order,” and my own Pilates blend created from decades of training in dance, gymnastics and yoga. Each class offers a different focus whether it’s a body part and its accompanying technique or the rhythm and dynamics of the exercises or incorporating breath patterns. Props (e.g. Magic Circle, Yoga Strap, Hand Weights) are encouraged as they allow more versatility for each class.
Joe Pilates stated that out of all of his apparatus exercises, the mat exercises were the most difficult. When the body learns to control itself through practicing the individual exercises and eventually, a full mat routine, the desired affects will develop a greater sense of confidence and self awareness.
Thursdays 9am – 10am PST (Pacific Standard Time)
It's a full hour non-stop class. So please be there in time. If time permits, I also take requests for other classes, so let me know your preferred day/time and level.
